DUBAI, United Arab Emirates, February 23, 2024/APO Group/ --

FIFA (www.FIFA.com), the Beach Soccer Worldwide Foundation and a host of star names from the Beach Soccer community have joined forces to welcome two groups of people living with disabilities to the site of the FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup UAE 2024 Dubai™ – to take part in two days of fun-filled activities.

The beach soccer ‘clinics’ – which were arranged with the help of local charity Al Noor and the Special Olympics – welcomed more than 50 children and young adults to the stadium in Dubai to give participants the opportunity to take part in training sessions, learn skills and play a practice match – on the same sand the best beach soccer players in the world are competing to be crowned world champions on 25 February.

The activities formed part of FIFA’s ‘Be Active’ campaign – which is run in partnership with the World Health Organization (WHO) – and encourages people of all ages to #BringTheMoves and exercise regularly.

According to the WHO, 80% of children are not getting enough exercise globally, and they recommend that all children are active for a minimum of 60 minutes a day. So, during a break in proceedings, participants performed their own dance moves to the iconic anthem of the campaign.

Day one involved young people brought by the Al Noor Training Centre for Persons with Disabilities – a local charity that cares for, provides rehabilitation, recreation, and vocational training to people living with disabilities between the ages of 4 to 35.

On the second day, participants joined from the Special Olympics. The Special Olympics is a global movement that gives opportunities to people with intellectual disabilities to be part of the great sports world and the achievements of that world.

This video submission contains footage and interviews from two days of FIFA Foundation events at the Dubai Design District Stadium – with the Al Noor Training Centre for Persons with Disabilities on February 20 and the Special Olympics on February 21.
